Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AIA Vitality Steps Challenge microsite ("the Challenge", "we", "us"). By registering for or using the Challenge, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Challenge. See also our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Instructions.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to register for and use the Challenge. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide, including your age, is accurate.
2. What the Challenge is
The Challenge lets participants log daily steps — either by entering a number directly or uploading a screenshot from a fitness app or device as supporting evidence — to track personal progress and contribute to a collective community step total. As part of the campaign, that collective total is tied to a charitable initiative in which steps are converted into shoes donated to children in need, on terms determined by AIA Vitality and outside the scope of what this microsite guarantees to any individual participant. The Challenge also includes optional engagement features: a login streak, badges awarded for consecutive days of verified activity, and a daily rotating mission for bonus points. These features may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time.
3. Your account
You can register using an email "magic link" (no password required), or by signing in with Google or Facebook. You're responsible for keeping access to your email account and any linked Google/Facebook account secure, since that's how sign-in works. We may keep you signed in on a device using a "remember me" cookie, described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Accurate reporting and fair play
You agree to report your step counts honestly and not to submit fabricated, altered, or misleading screenshots, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to log steps or inflate your totals. We may review, decline to verify, or remove any entry we reasonably believe is inaccurate or fraudulent, and may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Challenge.
5. Screenshot submissions
If you upload a screenshot as proof of steps, you confirm you have the right to submit it, and you grant us a limited licence to store and review that image solely to verify and administer your Challenge participation. Submitted screenshots remain pending until reviewed, and we may decline to credit an entry we cannot verify.
6. No guarantee of prizes or outcomes
Participation in the Challenge does not entitle you to any cash value, prize, or individual reward unless separately and explicitly stated by AIA Vitality for a specific promotion. The collective step-to-donation conversion described in Section 2 is a campaign-level initiative, not an individual entitlement tied to your personal step count.
7. Third-party sign-in
If you sign in with Google or Facebook, your use of those services remains subject to that provider's own terms of service, separate from these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The AIA Vitality name, logo, badge designs, and campaign content are the property of AIA (or its licensors) and may not be used without permission, other than sharing a badge you've earned as intended by the Challenge's own sharing feature. You retain ownership of any screenshot you upload, subject to the licence you grant us in Section 5.
9. Disclaimers
The Challenge is provided "as is" for general wellness engagement purposes and is not medical, fitness, or health advice. We do not guarantee the Challenge will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, [INSERT COMPANY LEGAL NAME] is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Challenge.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Challenge at any time, including for breach of these Terms or suspected fraudulent activity. You may stop using the Challenge, or request deletion of your account and data, at any time — see our Data Deletion Instructions.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example if the Challenge's features change. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Challenge after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
